Perception of static magnetic field by humans: a review

We review the scientific data available on ability of humans to perceive static magnetic fields with intensities comparable intensity natural geomagnetic field. It is currently assumed that birds have at least two independent magnetoreceptory systems. Various authors reported existence sensory Earth’s field and use it for spatial orientation in different species mammals. The question whether this exists has been raised repeatedly.
